The airport in Paros opened in 2016, so flights have been available, though the planes are smaller, and a little bumpier. Flying from Athens to ParosĪnother way to get into Paros is to fly in from Athens or Thessaloniki. Once you get to Paros, you’ll get here through Parikia, which is where the port is. A pretty good bus system will help you get around from one place to the next. We recommend staying in Naoussa, where you have tons of hotels, restaurants, and beaches. Paros greece beaches full#We didn’t have trouble getting our tickets in September, but the boat was more full than the other ferries we took. The route is about 1-hour long, and it is quite a popular route, so you may want to reserve ahead of time, especially in the high season. The ferry in Naxos will leave from Chora port and arrive in Parikia. We actually did the opposite route to go from Paros to Naxos, but it’s all pretty much the same. We were there in mid-September, so the tourist season was dying down. Obviously, if you’re going around during a busier period of the year, you may want to book ahead of time. We booked our tickets the day before and had no problem with availabilities. We took the ferry from Santorini and the ride was about 3.5 hours long. These little booths and offices are all over the center of any island. You can book your tickets at a travel agent’s office or online. We found tickets were usually quite cheaper through a travel agent than online. Though we warn you, be patient with the boarding and disembarking processes. They are somewhat chaotic! Basically, you wait in a huge line until they open the gates, then people manually check your tickets as you get on the boat. Basically, any island in the Cyclades, or the mainland! We opted for the Blue Star Ferries which travel to a bunch of Greek islands. The first is a more eco-friendly choice, it’s to take a ferry from Santorini, Naxos, Athens or Mykonos. There are two ways to get to Paros, either taking the ferry or flying in. The north coast’s Kolimbithres is a beach where naturally sculpted rocks form swimming coves. It’s where you get into when you take a ferry here. Parikia, the bayside capital, is a boating and transportation hub for the Cyclades region. Paros is known for its beautiful beaches and traditional villages (but more on that later). Paros is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, right next to Antiparos (a tiny island) and Naxos (slightly larger!).
